Working on items brought in by students. Applying techniques learned on Saturday (No armoires please!!!)
Students that do not have items will be provided with large boards

one-hour break

Antiquing of items and decorating with Egg Tempera paints

Cost: $275 per student. 50% deposit is due at time of registration

All materials are included except for the painted pieces the students will bring in on Sunday. Classes will begin promptly at 9am. All sessions will be held rain or shine. A light breakfast of tea, coffee, and crumpets will be provided each morning. We promise a fun and educational experience will be had by all.

About the Instructor

Professor Eli Rios is one of the leading authorities on furniture conservation and restoration in the country, his expertise lies in using traditional materials and methods for historically correct restoration.
Professor Rios’s desire to learn all facets of antique restoration and conservation led him to pursue a variety of technical and academic studies. He is certified through the Smithsonian Conservator’s Analytical Laboratory as a Conservator where his main focus was the Chemistry of Historical Materials. He completed a course of study at John Brown University in the Chemistry of Polymer and Modern Materials. His diverse educational background coupled with his years of hands on experience makes him an expert in antique conservation.

ECR maintains a high-end roster of clientele including private collectors, auction houses, dealer’s, galleries, and design firms such as Cullman & Kravis, MACII, Studio Sofield, Martha Steward, Oprah Winfrey, Sotheby’s, D.
